Who are we?

Helensburgh Friends of Guiding are parents, friends, supporters and members who support the ideals and aspirations of guiding and who actively work to help the units meeting in the Guide Halls in John Street, Helensburgh.

There is a committee consisting of Margaret Morrison (chair), Lorraine Brudenell (treasurer), Aileen Baird (letting secretary) and Elaine Paterson (secretary). The Guides and Divison Commissioner meet up with the officials about four times a year to discuss any problems. There should also be a representative parent from each unit helping us.

This committee keeps the Guide and Brownie halls in good condition. Margaret Morrison organises and monitors the cleaning, while also ensuring all repairs are carried out as needed to ensure the halls are fit for the girls to use.

The units pay a small levy for each girl and we also receive rent from the people/organisations who use the halls. This money is used to pay the electricity, repairs and insurance.

We intend to let you know what is happening in future through FaceBook pages and we hope you might also offer your services to give your daughters the best surroundings for their meetings.

If any parent is able to help us with repairs, decorating, public relations, fundraising, etc, we would be very grateful to hear from them.
